From the Record of the Tribunal
18 July 1997

The Tribunal met for several hours today with Joe Dawson (Duncan MacLeod/Area Supervisor, Seacouver WA) and Stacy Remington (Coordinator, Western Europe Region) regarding Dawson's request for permanent transfer to Paris. Dawson has discovered that MacLeod has given authorization to his lawyers in Seacouver to sell the building and property he owns there and donate the proceeds to the West Side Orphanage. Those instructions, unfortunately, were transmitted from an undisclosed location and the source was untraceable. Dawson believes that when and if MacLeod chooses to reappear voluntarily, it will not be in Seacouver, but it may be in Paris and he wishes a Paris posting to be ready for such an event. Remington explained to Dawson that there are no positions of Supervisor rank available in France at this time, and Dawson insisted on taking the cut in rank in order to remain in Paris. The Tribunal agreed, and also agreed to have the proceeds of the sale of Joe's Blue Bar in Seacouver put towards the purchase of a similar establishment in Paris. They then discussed the formation of an Investigative Search Team, under Dawson's oversight, that will take over the search for Duncan MacLeod on a world-wide basis. Her business complete, Remington was dismissed from the meeting, at which point the Second Tribune offered a proposal to Dawson. The current Tribunal, she explained, was working hard to correct some of the problems of the recent past and to position the Watchers for a brighter future in the coming millenium. Because of his long history with the Watchers, and his unique personal involvement with a number of Immortals, the Tribunal was certain that Dawson had an insight into both Watchers and Immortals, as well as possible relations between the two, that would be important to pass along to future generations of Watchers. Since he would now be stationed only an hour's flight away, would Dawson consider a part-time professorship at the Academy? The First Tribune was quick to explain that it was not their plan to change the Rule barring Watchers from "coming out" to their assignments -- that they would leave to some future Tribunal, one much more liberal than the current one -- but since the damage was already done, they believed there was value in what they could learn from Dawson -- as one of his Immortal friends once tried to tell another Tribunal. Dawson agreed to the proposal immediately, and will begin his work at the Academy with the fall term.
